Apple is having an Indie Games Week on the App Store, highlighting a new title in the store each day. By the time of publishing, almost all of the games should be available to pick up on either iPhone or iPad. The biggest inclusion is No Man’s Sky, although that is the one game of the seven that isn’t available now, and instead, will release on the App Store later this month on October 28. The soulslike genre has been around long enough now that it’s easy to pick out its most recognizable traits. Whether it’s managing stamina in combat, the risk of losing progression with each death, health items and enemies that respawn when you reach a bonfire, lantern, or some other recognizable checkpoint; all of the best in the genre adapt these in their own distinct ways.  Valor Mortis is no different, but attempts to stand out through its shift in perspective.
